Yasha-o from CLAMP's anime RG Veda is the protector of the Northlands. CLAMP's first manga (and stunningly illustrated) was RG Veda. It is a really good 10 volume manga right up until it got squashed at the end. The anime was basically a hacked up bad job, but it still featured some lovely eye candy.
Stared at this cel for half a year longing for it, and the second my hubby asked what I wanted for Christmas...I thought of Yasha-oooooh.
