Episode 8, Masahiro has a flashback to when he was a child left alone in the mountains by his grandfather. He is frightened, but Guren comes to comfort him.
Mokkun (Guren) now comforts Masahiro, brushing him with his tail, assuring him he is not alone and does not have to be afraid.
